WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

Nepal Fish Biodiversity Project (NFBP) is implemented by CMDN in collaborative efforts with and funding support from the USDA Forest Service and USAID and in close partnership with the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation (DNPWC), Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation (MoFSC), and Ministry of Agricultural Development (MoAD), in cooperation with the local communities in Nepal.

NFBP research study specially focuses on the genetic study of fish biodiversity of Nepal and aims to create first genetic reference database of native fish using fish DNA barcoding and environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding technology.
